Left parties hold protest against petrol price hike

Hyderabad Sept.1 : The Left parties on Sunday condemned another hike in the prices of petrol and diesel following devaluation of rupees against dollar.

The CPI and CPI (M) activists held demonstrations at various places in the State capital and other towns against the Central Government. Talking to reporters at RTC crossroads where the CPM activists held a dharna, former MP P Madhu said that the hike has put additional burden on the common man. He said that the Congress-led UPA Government was punishing the common man for its failure to control the devaluation of rupee. He said that the hike in petrol and diesel prices would affect all other commodities and consequently burden the poor.

The CPI activists too staged protest in the State capital while similar protests were held at different places by the activists of Left parties. CPM MLA J Ranga Reddy, along with his supporters, registered his protest by cycling in Miryalguda town. INN
