Hyderabad, Sept 1 : With Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy not taking any decision on the resignation letter sent a month ago, State Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao has decided to submit his resignation to Governor ESL Narasimhan.
It was on August 1 when Ganta sent his resignation letter to the Chief Minister in protest against the Congress Working Committee’s decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh to carve out Telangana State. Over a dozen ministers from Seemandhra region too had announced their resignations and sent papers to the Chief Minister. However, a decision on the resignations letter has been kept in abeyance.
Stating that he was firm on quitting the cabinet, Ganta told reporters that he would submit his resignation directly to the Governor.
Ganta is holding the portfolio of Ports and Investments which was allotted to him after Komatireddy Venkat Reddy resigned from the cabinet demanded statehood for Telangana region. INN
