New Delhi, August 12 : Congress and TDP MPs from Seemandhra Region sought more clarification from the Central Government on the issue of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Participating in the debate in Rajya Sabha on Monday, Congress MP KVP Ramchander Rao questioned the very demand for formation of Telangana. He sought to know whether any State called Telangana existed in the history and the reasons why it was being created.
CM Ramesh of TDP described the decision as purely political. He said at least one out of four families from Seemandhra region are settled in Hyderabad and now they were being asked to leave Hyderabad. He said Congress party was responsible for instilling fear among them.
T Subbirami Reddy of Congress tried to defend his party by saying that all parties including BJP and TDP supported Telangana and now all were trying to take political mileage by targeting the ruling party. INN
