Hyderabad, July 24 : Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Wednesday informed that the proposed Jana Chaitanya Yatra scheduled to be launched on Thursday has been postponed to August 1.
Talking to reporters here, Kondandaram said that the decision to postpone the Jana Chaitanya Yatra was taken in view of heavy rains that lashed several districts of Telangana. He said that Yatra would be taken up at a large scale across the region from August 1.
Kodandaram also alleged that the Seemandhra leaders were trying to provoke the local sentiments and obstructing the Telangana formation in an “uncivilized manner.” He said that the Seemandhra leaders should respect the sentiments of Telangana people and agree for an amicable division of the State. He said the division would prove beneficial for both the sides.
TNGO leader Devi Prasad and other leaders were also present. INN
