Hyderabad, July 20 : The Alwal police on Saturday busted a 10-member gang of dacoits and recovered stolen property worth Rs 60 lakh from their possession.
According to police, the dacoity took place on February 25 this year in a house at Khanojiguda in the limits of Alwal Police Station. Giving the details of the case, police said that the Dasari Anvesh (25), a resident of Gandhi Nagar, was working as a Technical Analyst in his maternal uncle firm M/s Equators Financiers. During this period, one Ms. Jayanthi developed acquaintance with him and lured him that she would get gold for cheaper rate and also shown some samples. She took money but she neither arranged gold nor returned money.
As such, Anvesh hatched a plan to rob money from her at any cost. He then approached KO Radhakrishna and other accused and was waiting for an opportunity to knock away money. Meanwhile, Radhakrishna who was having close acquaintance in dealings of Ms. Jayanthi, was closely monitoring her movements and informing Avnesh.
While so, the complainant Bachu Venkat Kumar (37), a realtor and resident of Jagdish Colony, came in contact with the said Jayanthi who lured him to arrange 5 kgs of gold at cheaper rate. Believing her version, complainant and his friends agreed to purchase 5 kgs gold for Rs.1 crore and paid advance of Rs 7 Lakhs. The complainant and others moved around her two or three times with balance amount, but she had not arranged. Radhakrishna, who has been watching this transaction informed Avneshand others to be ready to execute their plan at any time.
On February 25 at about 6 PM, Avnesh came to know that the dealing was going on at the house of one Satyanarayana Sastry at Khanojiguda in Alwal P.S. limits. Jayanthi and others assembled at the house of Satyanarayana for the deal and the complainant brought Rs.1 crore for the deal and when they were waiting for the person who was expected to come there with gold, the accused barged into the house and threatened the complainant and others at the point of country made pistol and knives robbed away Rs. 1 crore.
The stolen property cash Rs. 60 lakh, two vehicles which were purchased with the stolen money worth Rs. 1.5 lakh ,total 61.5 lakh, Pistol, knives and three crime vehicles used in the commission of offence by the accused persons have been seized.
Besides Avnesh and Radhakrishna, police also arrested seven other accused and identified them as Pedda Pattolla Siddartha Reddy (38), Dattatreya alias Dattu (26), Pradeep Patil alias Rohith (38), Yogesh Singh (28), Ravi Singh alias Raju Singh, Vijender Singh (23) and Rajesh Singh alias Ganesh Singh (24).
One more accused Kailash Singh is still absconding and property yet to be recovered. The case is under investigation for recovery of remaining property. The arrested accused persons have been sent to judicial remand.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner CV Anand described the investigation as an excellent piece of work done by the Alwal Police. He said all policemen involved in the investigation were being suitably rewarded. INN
