CM reviews arrangements for Ramzan

Hyderabad, July 4 : Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements for the holy month of Ramzan beginning next week.

Addressing a review meeting along with elected representatives and officials at Jubilee Hall here, the Chief Minister said special focus should be given to maintenance of law and order situation as the holy month of Ramzan was coinciding with Bonalu festival. He directed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to ensure cleanliness in the city, especially around mosques and other places of worship. He asked the power utilities to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the month of Ramzan. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board has been asked to supply adequate water to mosque in view of high consumption during Ramzan.

Kiran Kumar Reddy also asked the Civil Supplies Department to ensure additional quota of sugar and proper supply of other commodities during Ramzan. He said that the Dairy Development Corporation would make special arrangements for supply of milk for Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Chief Minister directed Secretary Minority Welfare Department Ahmed Nadeem to coordinate the Ramzan arrangements across the State.

MIM president and Hyderabad MP asked the government to provide mobile transformers in the Old City to ensure uninterrupted power supply. He also stressed on supply of additional water for mosques.

 Ministers SM Ahmedullah, M Maheedhar Reddy, D Sridhar Babu, D Nagender and M Mukesh Goud, Chief Secretary PK Mohantay, Rajya Sabha MP MA Khan, Minorities Commission Chairman Abid Rasool Khan, MLC Mohammad Ali Shabbir and senior officials of different departments took part in the meeting.  – INN
