Hyderabad, July 3 : Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday asked the Industries Department to send the approved proposals for establishment of National Investment and Manufacturing Zones (NIMZ) in Medak and Chittoor Districts to the Government of India.
The Chief Minister said that the Expression of Interest also should be called for simultaneously. Proposal for final sanction for the NIMZ in Prakasam District also will be sent immediately. It may be recalled here that Government of India also agreed to approve the third NIMZ in Prakasam District.
Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday reviewed the progress regarding the establishment of the three NIMZ in Medak, Chittoor and Prakasam districts with Minister and higher officials at Secretariat. He approved the delineated site for Medak NIMZ to the extent of 12,635 acres. The land extent for Chittoor NIMZ was also approved. Four new Land Acquisition units (2 for each NIMZ) with the required staff were also approved.
The Chief Minister also assured to provide the required budgetary support from the Government. An IAS officer will also be appointed to oversee the establishment of the three NIMZ in the State. Major Industries Minister Dr Geetha Reddy, Chief Secretary Dr. P K Mohanty, Principal Secretary (Industries) Pradeep Chandra, Principal Secretary (Finance) V Bhasker, APIIC MD Jayesh Ranjan and other officials attended the meeting.
The Chief Minister suggested that along with the Detailed Project Report for each of the NIMZ, provisions for Schools, Hospitals and developed House-sites should be there. Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy asked the officials to expedite land identification in Chittoor NIMZ and said that sustained efforts for attracting potential investors/partners for NIMZ implementation. Industry Majors like Sumitomocorp, Japan (Chittoor NIMZ) and Mahindra Life Spaces (Medak NIMZ) already expressed their interest. INN
