Hyderabad, June 27 : A ceremonial gaurd of honour and wreath laying was presented in respect of the brave soldier late M Yadaiah, when his mortal remains was flown in to Hyderabad airport this morning.
Lt. Gen. S M Mehta, Commandant MCEME, Secunderabad commanded the wreath laying and gaurd of honour ceremony arranged in the open area of the Cargo at Shamsabad Airport. Senior serving officers of tri-services i.e., Army, Air Force and Navy including Major General Cyrus A Pithawalla,General Officer Commanding Andhra Sub Area, Air Vice Marshal D P Upot, Commandant College of Air Warfare, Secunderabad and Rear Admiral, K Srinivas, Director DMDE Bolarum and other senior officers joined the wreath laying ceremony.
G Jaya Kumar, Addl. Director, Protocol was also present on behalf of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Lt. Gen. K R Rao, Rtd. D. G. Artillery also paid the homage by laying wreath. The solmonised ceremony marked observance of a two minutes silence, sad bugle and guns salute by army jawans in respect of the marytr.
Later, the mortal remains of soldier Yadaiah was taken by road to his native village Kondareddypally, in Wanaparthy mandal of Mahboobnagar district for last rites with full Military honours. Under the supervision of Major General Cyrus A Pithawalla. GOC, Andhra Sub Area, arrangements was made on the ocassion. Serving in 35 Rashtriya Rifles, the 28 year Signalman Yadaiah was killed in a terror attack in Sirnagar on 24 June.
Signalman Yadaiah gave supreme sacrifice gallantly fighting the terrorist in Srinagar. He died in the line of fire in the highest traditions of the Army. INN
