Hyderabad, June 26 : As many as 33 people have been sent to jail by different courts for driving in inebriated condition.
While, Third Metropolitan Magistrate B Chengalaraya Nayudu convicted 2 people for a period of seven days, four people for a period of five days and 27 people for a period of three days imprisonment each for drunken driving.
The Enforcement against Drunk Driving was carried out over the last weekend on June 21 and 22. A total of 356 cases were booked against Drunk Drivers. The vehicles of all the respondents were detained which included 264 two-wheelers, 113 three-wheelers, 76 four-wheelers and three others. They attended the compulsory counseling sessions at TTI, Begumpet and Goshamahal on Monday.
The respondents were produced before the Third and Fourth Metropolitan Magistrate Court and fine Rs 2,000 to 2,100 was imposed.
From 1st January, 2013 to 22nd June, a total of 6,375 cases have been registered and total imprisonments are 528 as on date. INN
