GHMC review meet on arrangements made for ensuing Ramzan festival

Hyderabad, June 22 : GHMC Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain along with Zonal Commissioners, Additional Commissioners, Engineer-in-Chief, Chief Engineer, Superintendent Engineers held a review meeting with regard to Chandrayangutta Assembly Constituency and arrangements made for ensuing Ramzan festival in his chambers today.

Mayor has directed the Zonal Commissioners and Chief Engineer to fix up the responsibilities to the concerned Executive Engineers and Executive Engineer (Electrical) to issue a circular for inviting proposals from the Hon’ble Corporators to furnish the works to be taken up for ensuing festival within a week and to prepare the estimates to take up the works on priority basis and to be completed in a stipulated time before the festival.

Majid Hussain has enquired with Zonal Commissioners and Executive Engineers about the works pertaining to water stagnation points, desilting of nalas and other civic related issues in connection with ensuing rainy seasons and said that the works which are being are taken up are not up to the expectations and directed them to be completed immediately and further instructed the Zonal Commissioners to arrange temporary lighting for the ensuing Ramzan festival as was done last year in a befitting manner.

Earlier Mayor along with the above said officers and Riyasath Nagar Corporator Mustafa Ali Baig have reviewed various civic related works pertaining to Roads, garbage lifting, road widening with regard to Chandrayangutta Assembly Constituency. Majid Hussain said that road widening has been taken up thrice at Midhani Junction in spite of that illegal encroachments are coming again at Midhani Junction for which he has directed the Zonal Commissioner (South) to remove the encroachments duly coordinating with the Traffic Police as GHMC is spending crores of rupees for road widening. Mayor also directed to issue all the road widening cheques to the effected within a week.

As per the request of Corporator Mustafa Ali Baig, Mayor said that Government has allotted the Government land to GHMC at Bandlaguda near Islamia College, in this regard he has directed the Engineer-in-Chief to put up a proposal for a Stadium and be submitted to the Standing Committee to accord sanction. Majid Hussain directed to display the boards on GHMC roads for easy identification and maintenance as most of the roads in city belong to R&B and National Highways
