Over 42 lakh consumers use more than six LPG cylinders

Hyderabad, June 18 : As many as 42,42,244 domestic consumers in the State are using more than six LPG cylinders in a year.

In his reply to a question raised by MLA D Anasuya and others in the Legislative Assembly during Question Hour on Tuesday, Civil Supplies Minister D Sridhar Babu said that consequent on capping of six LPG refills per year by Government of India, it was decided initially to supply three LPG refills over and above six refills to the Deepam connection holders. However, the Centre revised the earlier order and ordered that nine LPG refills would be supplied per year.

The minister said that approximately Rs 63 crore per annum would be required for supply of three additional gas refills to Deepam consumers as per last year’s consumption. INN
