Hyderabad, May 25 : The Central Zone team of Commissioner’s Task Force apprehended a four member gang who procured fake Indian Currency Notes from West Bengal for circulating in Hyderabad.
On credible information, the Central Zone Task Force Team apprehended the accused persons – Mohd Ghouse, Sayeed Ali and Musharaf Shaik, all natives of West Bengal at Akbar Nagar, Bhavani Nagar along with fake Indian Currency Notes of Rs 1,95,500. Based on their confession, another accused Mohd Ashraf was arrested and fake Indian Currency Notes of Rs 2 Lakhs were seized from his possession at his residence.
According to police, the accused Mohd Ghouse and Mohd Ashraf, both residents of Hyderabad, had contacted the accused Sayeed Ali, who is resident of Sadhaha Dorgipara Village, Malda District, West Bengal, for supply of fake Indian currency to them for circulating in Hyderabad. On which, Sayeed Ali had collected the fake currency from Ilyas of his village and came along with his associate Musharaf Shaik came with fake Indian currency notes of Rs. 3,95,500 having Rs.1,000 and Rs.500 denominations to Hyderabad and met Mohd. Ghouse and Mohd. Ashraf, in order to exchange in the ratio of Rs. 1 Lakh fake Indian currency for Rs. 40,000 original Indian currency notes and handed over the same to Mohd. Ghouse, who in turn handed over fake Indian Currency Notes of Rs. 2 Lakhs to Mohd. Ashraf for circulating them in Hyderabad.
The police seized a total of Rs 3,95,500 of fake Indian Currency with denominations of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 and four cellphones from their possession. The accused were handed over to Bhavani Nagar Police Station for further action. INN
