Hyderabad, April 21: Girls have outperformed boys in the First Year Intermediate Public Examination whose results were announced here on Sunday. While 59.46 per cent passed the exam, 50.22 per cent boys cleared the Inter First Year.
The girls maintained their dominance in the Vocational with a pass percentage of 55.66 per cent compared to boys’ 38.93.
The results were announced by Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathy in the presence of Principal Secretary (Education Depatment) Rajeshwar Tiwari and Board of Intermediate Secretary Ram Shankar Naik at the BIE office at Nampally.
The minister informed that 54.60 per cent of 8,91,337 candidates have passed the Inter First Year exams. Similarly, of 94,285 Vocational candidates, 46.54 per cent cleared the exams. Compared to last year, there is an increase by 0.85 per cent in number of candidates passing the exams. As many as 43.06 per cent candidates have secured more than 75 per cent marks of A Grade, while 32.21 per cent got B Grade with 60-75 per cent marks. A total of 16.97 got C Grade and 7.76 per cent got D Grade.
While as many as 179 candidates in General category and 28 candidates in Vocational were booked for malpractice, the results of three candidates in General and 99 candidates in Vocational have been withheld.
In General category, Krishna district stood on top with 74 per cent followed by Visakhapatnam (66), Nellore (64), Ranga Reddy (64), Guntur (63), Chittoor (58), West Godavari (58), Hyderabad (55), East Godavari (54), Prakasam (53), Srikakulam (52), Kurnool (52), Khammam (51), Kadapa (50), Vizianagaram (49) Adilabad (48), Karimnagar (47), Warangal (46), Anantapur (45), Medak (41), Nizamabad (41), Nalgonda (41) and Mahabubnagar registered the lower passing percentage of 40.
In Vocational, Srikakulam district was on top with 65 pass percentage followed by Krishna (62), Nellore (61), Chittoor (58), Guntur (56), Visakhapatnam (55), Kurnool (53), Adilabad (52), Anantapur (51), Vizianagaram (50), Kadapa (49), Nalgonda (49), Hyderabad (49), East Godavari (46), West Godavari (46), Prakasam (46), Medak (43), Ranga Reddy (43), Khammam (42), Warangal (39), Nizamabad (35), Mahabubnagar (31) and Karimnagar (30).
The minister informed that the Marks Registers of all Colleges would be dispatched to the Regional Inspection Officers concerned within two days. The Principals of the colleges have to collect them from RIOs immediately and display in their colleges. The Principals can collect Memoranda of Marks from the RIOs on April 26 and see that they are given to the candidates at the earliest.
The discrepancies if any, found in the Memorandum of Marks should be referred to the Board through concerned Principals before May 22. Applications received after this date will not be entertained.
The last date for payment of examination fee for Intermediate Advanced Supplementary Examinations, May/June 2013 is May 3. There is no provision for payment of examination fee with penalty after the due date.
The candidates who have passed in all papers can appear for improvement, no payment of Rs 100 per paper in addition to the normal examination fee. The candidates will appear with the same Registration Number of IPE March 2013. The better of old/new performance will be taken only for candidates who passed in all subjects.
The first year intermediate failed candidates can appear for passed papers of first year also along with failed papers subject to the condition that they shall forego the previous performance of passes papers.
The Intermediate Public Advanced Supplementary Examinations, May/June 2013 will be held from May 22.
