Hyderabad, April 21 : Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy requested the Union Minister for Agriculture and Food Processing Sharad Pawar to sanction a Mega Food Processing Park in Nizamabad district.
The request was made during a high level meeting the Chief Minister had with Sharad Pawar at former’s Camp Office on Sunday afternoon. He also held discussions on issues relating to Poultry farmers, Fisheries sector and Oil Palm farmers.
Ministers D Sridhar Babu, Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy, Pithani Satyannarayana, P Bala Raju, R Venkata Reddy and MP Suresh Shetkar and senior officials from both the Central and State Governments participated in the meeting.
The Chief Minister requested the Union Minister to grant a moratorium for a period of one year on repayment of Term Loans availed by the Poultry Industry–including farmers, breeding farms, integrators and hatcheries. He also requested to grant interest subvention of at least 6 per cent for a period of 2-3 years, reschedule the outstanding Term Loans and sanction additional working capital loans.
Kiran Kumar Reddy sought that Food Corporation of India may be directed to allocate and release at least 2 lakh tones each of damaged wheat and Rice for exclusive use of poultry farmers at a subsidized price of 50 per cent of the Minimum Support Price (MSP)., Poultry farmers, Breeding farms and integrators may be allowed to import Soya Meal for their captive consumption, at zero rate of Customs Duty, for a period of one year.
The Chief Minister asked the Union Minister for setting up of World Class Aquarium in Andhra Pradesh, which was assured by the later.
Kiran Kumar Reddy informed that Oil Palm farmers Association have requested for implementation of formula recommended by Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) i.e.13.54 per cent of net CPO weighted average price + 75.25 per cent on 9 per cent recovery of Palm Kernel nuts weighted average price., and requested for imposing import duty on crude Oil and Palm Oil.
There is a proposal to set up an Agro and Food Processing Industrial Park in Nizamabad district of Andhra Pradesh, which is one of the industrially backward areas of Telangana Region. M/s. Smart Agro Industries Corporation Pvt. Limited has come forward and evinced interest in setting up this facility.
M/s. Smart Agro Industries Corporation Pvt. Ltd., is promoted by a Group of NRI Entrepreneurs, living in the USA and hailing from Telangana Region. The proposed project envisages setting up of food, agro-processing and related industries and thereby add value to the local agricultural inputs, which has been the missing link for the local industry to compete and thrive in the regional and national markets.
Government of Andhra Pradesh has been proactively assisting/facilitating the project and has accordingly provided about 370 acres of land in Nandipet Mandal of the district. The Chief Minister informed the Union Minister for Agriculture & Food Processing that in September, 2012 the proposal of M/s. Smart Agro Industries Corporation Pvt. Ltd., was found eligible and kept waitlisted.
The Chief Minister requested that the proposal of M/s. M/s. Smart Agro Industries Corporation Pvt. Ltd. may be approved at the earliest. INN
