TDP slams ERC for hike in power tariff

Hyderabad, March 31 : The Telugu Desam Party on Sunday alleged that the Electricity Regulatory Commission proposed a steep hike in power tariff due to the pressure from the government.

Addressing a press conference here, TDP leaders Gali Muddukrishanama Naidu, Dhulipala Narendra and Motkupalli Narasimhulu questioned the very existence of the ERC as it has failed to stop fleecing the people.

Describing N Kiran Kumar Reddy as a “Barbaric Chief Minister”, the TDP leaders said that he could enter the Guinness Book of World Record for the steep hike in power tariff. They said no other Chief Minister was as cruel as Kiran Kumar Reddy with regard to implementation of power tariff as he intends to cheat people through tricky slab systems.

The TDP leaders also announced that their party would support the State bandh called by Left parties on April 9. INN
