Hyderabad, January 26 : Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Saturday announced that the Telangana Samara Deeksha would be held on Sunday irrespective of whether or not police permit it.
Talking to reporters after meeting TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, Kodandaram said that the JAC was firm on its decision to hold Samara Deeksha from Sunday. Informing that the Central Zone DCP has denied permission to conduct 36-hour Samara Deeksha at Indira Park, he alleged the police have rejected the permission although an assurance was given that the protest would be totally peaceful.
Complaining of injustice and discrimination, Kodandaram said while the government permitted Jai Andhra Pradesh meeting at Rajahmundry, it denied permission for a Telangana meeting.
Meanwhile, JAC leaders called on Home Minister P Sabita Indra Reddy seeking her intervention to get permission for the Samara Deeksha. The Home Minster has reportedly assured the JAC delegation that she would speak to DGP V Dinesh Reddy about it.
Kodandaram said it was the responsibility of Telangana ministers to prevail upon the govenment to permit Samara Deeksha. INN
