Hyderabad, January 10 : The City Police on Thursday clarified that it was yet to register a case against VHP leader Praveen Togadia for his inflammatory speech.
Based on a complaint filed by DJS Secretary Salahuddin Affan, the Charminar Police began investigation and it was seeking legal opinion. Based on the legal opinion, a decision would be taken on registering a case against the VHP leader for his speech in which he likened Bhagyalakshmi Temple abutting Charminar to Ayodhya.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered against Swamy Swaroopananda in the Dabeerpura Police Station for his remarks at the dharna at Indira Park, which, according to the petitioner, have hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community. The complaint in this case was lodged by MBT leaders Adam Mallik and Farhatullah Khan on Wednesday.
