Hyderabad, January 6 : Backward Classes Minister Baswaraju Saraiah said that he was not opposed to the idea of making Hyderabad as the common capital of two states after the formation of Telangana.
Talking to reporters here, Saraiah said that the Congress leaders might not oppose the idea of making Hyderabad as the capital of Seemandhra and Telangana States after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. However, he said he might support the idea once the Centre decides to bifurcate the State.
Saraiah reiterated that the Congress leaders from the region would not agree for any packages for the region or positions and would insists for statehood for Telangana. He said that a delegation of senior Congress leader would soon visit Delhi to pressurise the High Command on conceding the Telangana. He also informed that Panchayat Raj K Jana Reddy went to Delhi to meet senior leaders over the Telangana issue.
The minister also criticised MIM supremo Asaduddin Owaisi for stating that he would block formation of Telangana.
