Congress MLCs oppose proposed hike in power tariff

Hyderabad, January 5 : Congress MLCs P Sudhakar Reddy, KR Amos and Yadav Reddy on Saturday demanded that the State Government defer its decision to impose the Fuel Surcharge Adjustment (FSA) on power consumers.

Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises here, the MLCs said that any increase in the power tariff would burden the common man further. They said that the decision would badly affect the image of the Congress Government. They said it would be improper on the part of the government to affect another hike in power tariff at a time when people were facing the wrath of rising inflation.

Amos demanded that the Pradesh Congress Committee convene a meeting to discuss the issue.
