Hyderabad, January 5 : Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday directed the Finance Department to release Rs 1,000 crore to implement the promises made by him during the Indiramma Bata Programme.
So far, out of 1,020 assurances, 423 have been implemented. The remaining works too would be completed by the end of March this year. The Chief Minister directed that the assurances given by him during Indiramma Bata programme should be executed on war footing basis.
The directions were issued by the Chief Minister during a meeting held at the State Secretariat to review the progress of works under Indiramma Bata programme. Kiran Kumar Reddy said that he would review the progress of works on monthly basis.
It may be recalled that the Chief Minister has so far toured 11 districts of East Godavari, Srikakulam, Khammam, West Godavari, Kurnool, Mahbubnagar, Krishna, Prakasam, Medak, Rangareddy and Visakhapatnam under “Indiramma Baata”. Since Rs 1,000 crore each were released under Rachabanda and Prajapatham programmes under the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund during 2011-12 and 2012-13, Kiran Kumar Reddy wants a similar amount to be released to fulfill the assurances that he gave during Indiramma Baata programme.
Special Chief Secretary (Marketing and Cooperation) IYR Krishna Rao, Principal Secretaries V Bhaskar (Finance), S P Tucker (Planning), K. Ratna Kishore (Health and Family Welfare) , Sam Bob (Municipal Administration and Urban Development) and other senior officials attended the meeting.
