Hyderabad, Dec 7 : GHMC Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain inspected various civic related ongoing works in the areas of Old City here on Friday.
The Mayor along with GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu and Corporators Samad Bin Abdad, Mohd Yousuf Naqshbandi, Dr Abdul Qavi Ansari, Mansoor Bin Mohd Awalgi, Mohd Mumtaz Ali and Mirza Mustafa Baig visited Riyasat Nagar, Kanchan Bagh, Barkas, Chandrayangutta, Jangammet and Uppuguda divisions.
At Murki Nala bridge near Akber Nagar, the Mayor pointed out that the works have already been sanctioned but not yet started and requested the Commissioner to take up CC Roads, patch works on both the sides immediately. The Chief Engineer has been directed to execute the works on priority basis.
While interacting with the Corporators at Akber Nagar, Majid Hussain informed the Commissioner that though the land acquisition cheques were ready, but they were not issued to the affected people so far. Further, he directed that the concerned corporators be involved to have a better clarity for which the Commissioner directed the Additional Commissioner (Planning) and Zonal Commissioner to coordinate with all the concerned Corporators and suggested to issue the cheques at the site itself for the convenience of the affected people rather coming them to the Zonal office to collect the cheques.
The Mayor said that the road widening works affected people from Fatesha Nagar to Owaisi Hospital and DRDL main road. The affected people have already submitted necessary documents for road widening purpose but still cheques have not been issued to them. Intervening on the issue the Commissioner instructed the officials to coordinate and issue the cheques within 15 days.
While on inspection at Kummarvadi Colony and Edi Bazar areas, the Commissioner pointed out the road works were not up to the expectations and needs improvement. The commissioner directed the Chief Engineer to personally monitor the execution of works with all the Executive Engineers without giving any scope for criticism.
The Commissioner at Phisalbanda X roads directed the Additional Commissioner (Planning) to take up a special drive at the entire stretch where the road widening works which are taken up earlier to have a proper maintenance of the either sides of the road in a proper manner and also to shift the electrical poles and the transformers from the widened portion to have a better look and also for the convenience of the general public.
Additional Commissioners K Dhanunjay Reddy, L Vandan Kumar, R Dhan Singh, Engineer-in-Chief K Suresh Kumar, Chief Engineer N Ravi Kumar, Zonal Commissioner (South) Maqbool Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner and others officials were also present.
