Hyderabad, Nov 19 : Congress MLC MS Prabhakar on Monday alleged that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was trying to take the credit for achievements of Congress Government in the State.
Talking to reporters at his chambers in the Legislative Council, Prabhakar ridiculed Naidu’s claim made during his “Vastunna Mee Kosam” padayatra in Sangareddy that Hyderabad witnessed development during his regime as the Chief Minister. He said that it was during the Congress rule that the government had spent several thousand crores of rupees for the overall development of twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. He said that Naidu’s claim was incorrect and misleading.
Describing Naidu as a dictator, Prabhakar said that no section of the society was happy during his regime. While he permitted police firing on those who protests against the hike in power tariff, he ignored suicide by hundreds of farmers. He said unemployment was at its peak during the TDP rule. The TDP chief is also responsible for giving away Wakf properties worth thousands of crores to multi-national companies at throw away prices.
The Congress MLC alleged that despite losing power Naidu has continued his style of dictatorship which has been forcing his party MLAs and other leaders to join other parties.
Prabhakar also asked Naidu to clarify his stand on separate Telangana issue. While conducting padayatra, the TDP chief is advocating united Andhra Pradesh. But after entering the Telangana region, he has been claiming that he never opposed the statehood for the region. He said Naidu should take one stand before facing the public.
