Srikakulam, Nov 3 : Senior TDP leader Kinjarapu Yerran Naidu, who died in a road mishap, was cremated at his native Nimmada village of Kota Bommali mandal in Srikakulam district with full State honours on Saturday.
Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was among scores of politial leaders and workers who attended the funeral. Yerran Naidu’s body was taken to Nimmada village in a procession attended by thousands of people from Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts.
The funeral procession was followed by a gun salute by the police. Srikakulam district collector Saurabh Gaur placed a wreath on Yerran’s body on behalf of the State Government.
Chandrababu, who was accompanied by his son Lokesh, was in tears when Yerran Naidu’s son Rammohan lit the pyre set in the family’s agriculture field at Nimmada village.
Civil Supplies Minister D Sridhar Babu, Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki Goud, MLAs Nagam Janardhan Reddy and S Venugopalachari and other leaders paid their last respects to Yerran Naidu.
