We will implement all poll promises: KCR

Hyderabad, June 12 : Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao on Thursday reiterated that the TRS Government would implement all the promises that it made with the people of the new State.

Intervening during the debate on Motion of Thanks on Governor ESL Narasimhan’s address in the Telangana State Legislative Assembly here, the Chief Minister accused the opposition of creating confusion among the minds of the people. He said there was no question of going back on the poll promises. However, he said that his government was yet to settle down and streamline its functioning. He said that the criticising a 10-day old government was illogical. He said that only 71 posts of All India Services have been allocated to Telangana and several officials were yet to take the charge. He said that the process of division of Andhra Pradesh was still on and therefore, it would take some time for his government to start implementing the promises.

KCR pulled the opposition parties for attributing to his government some promises which he never made. He said he never promised to provide job for each family in the State. Similarly, he never promised waiving off DWCRA loans although he promised to increase its limit from five to 10 lakh.

The Chief Minister defended his stand on Polavaram issue. He said as a designated Chief Minister he had every right to call for a bandh and he would continue to do everything possible to protect the interest of Telangana. He accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu of making the Centre to secretly issue the ordinance on Polavaram project.

KCR also made it clear that the government was firm on waiving off farm loans up to Rs 1 lakh as promised in the party’s manifesto. He also dismissed the allegations leveled by TDP floor Errabelli Dayakar Rao of leaking the discussions held during bankers meeting of not extending the loan waiver scheme to gold and long-term loans.  INN
