Over 1200 held for ticketless, irregular travel in trains

Hyderabad, May 24 : The Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway apprehended as many as 1278 were apprehended for various offences during the fortress check against ticketless and irregular travel at Secunderabad Railway Station.

The check was conducted on Friday from 5 AM till 10 PM under the direct supervision of M. Sarjana Rao, Chief Commercial Manager (Passenger Marketing) and Ravi P Padi, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Secunderabad Division. Other officers of Commercial Department of the Division were also involved.

A total of 138 Ticket checking staff along with 16 Railway Protection Force Personnel were involved in the drive. A total of 51 express trains, 12 passenger trains and 35 MMTS services were thoroughly checked during the drive. The fortress check was carried out on all the platforms at the station, in addition to the trains.

The check resulted in apprehending of 1278 persons for various offences, 563 persons were found travelling without ticket and 589 persons were found travelling irregularly. 126 cases of un-booked luggage were also detected. The drive resulted in realization of an amount of Rs. 5.47 Lakhs towards penalty from these cases.  INN
