GHMC Commissioner inspects Khajaguda road widening works

Hyderabad, Feb 21 : GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar has inspected the road widening work from Khajaguda junction to Wipro Junction via Khajaguda and Nanakramguda villages. This road is proposed as 120 feet wide as per CDA Master plan (Cyber bad Development Authority), total length of the road is 3.43 kilometer. From Old Bombay road to Jawaharlal Nehru Express way 2.66 kilometer and from there it is distance is 0.79 kilometer up to Wipro Junction. In this road 146 properties are being affected.

The Commissioner has desired and issued instructions to take up 60 feet road widening in 1st phase to avoid delay in acquisition of private properties and to meet immediate traffic need on this road. This is an important link road connecting old Bombay road with APIC (IALA) area and financial district in which large number of IT employees are working. Total estimated cost of the road is 26.92 crores nad contract value is Rs. 17.63 crores. The road widening could not proceed due to non acquisition of properties. The contractor has entered in to the agreement on 18.05.2013.

Today after inspection of the Commissioner and team of officers consisting of Additional CCP, ACP, and Deputy Executive Engineer conducted survey and completed marking of centre line for entire stretch of road
and handed over to contractor to speed up the work.  INN
