GHMC chief for time-bound resolution of grievances

Hyderabad, Feb 3 : GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar said that the GHMC is preparing an action plan to resolve the grievances in a time bound frame basing on the importance of the issue of the grievance. The Commissioner has interacted with media after the Prajavani Programme held in GHMC Head Office on Monday.

The Commissioner has observed that every need is there to sort out the grievances at the earliest as many of the grievances are not able to resolve in a particular time causing inconvenience to the citizens and as well as the officers to sort out the issue. In this context, the Commissioner informed that GHMC will come up with an action plan to settle a particular grievance in a time bound frame in the coming days basing on the importance / nature of the grievance.

Somesh Kumar has appealed the citizens of twin cities to kindly represent their grievances from the Circle / Zonal level itself rather than coming to Head Office and utilizing the services of 24×7 toll free number 155304 to represent their grievances.

The Commissioner said that the HICC (Hyderabad International Convention Centre) has been selected as the venue for conduct of Metropolis World Congress during October 2014. The delegates will be visiting Hyderabad City in the 2nd week of February from Barcelona, Spain when a curtain raiser programme about Metropolis World Congress will be arranged by GHMC, he said.

Somesh Kumar said that 4825 cell tower companies have registered with GHMC and as per the High Court speaking Orders the agencies / companies have paid Rs. 10,000 for provisional registration and as per the orders of the Government they have to pay Rs. 1 lakh to GHMC towards their registration fee for each cell towers.

The Commissioner said that during the financial year 2013-14, 47 contractors have been debarred / blacklisted for not maintaining the works as per the contract agreement.

Somesh Kumar said that a meeting was held on 31st January, 2014 with the Principal Secretary (R&B) and senior officials of GHMC & R&B with regard to R&B roads where detailed discussions were held, R&B is ready to handover a sub division whereas GHMC has asked for a separate division and opined that soon the Government will issue certain orders to the GHMC for maintenance of R&B roads duly allocating budget provision.
