Mayor, Commissioner distributes sweets among sanitary staff

Hyderabad, Jan 1 : GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain said that each and every employee of the sanitary wing plays a very vital role in making the city clean and further stated that he is very proud to be with all the staff on New Year’s Day.

The Mayor and Commissioner Somesh Kumar have distributed sweets and identity cards to sanitation workers at GHMC head office today. The Mayor said that with the help of the sanitary staff only GHMC is able to get good name and the sanitary staff are like the fore front soldiers of the army while performing their duties in making Hyderabad a pollution free and Clean City. He has praised the Commissioner GHMC for taking this type of initiative in the history of the Corporation and he opined that meeting all the officials, staff at one platform will bring togetherness, better coordination among the staff to work more efficiently to get good name to the GHMC. He further stated that as a token of encouragement the big companies / corporate offices have come forward to join hands with GHMC by sponsoring sweet boxes to the entire sanitation staff of GHMC for their vital role in maintaining the clean city.

Somesh Kumar said that this programme is intended to recognize often forgotten people and to see smiles on their faces for recognizing their services. The Commissioner said that he is feeling very proud and happy to be with the sanitation staff on this happy occasion and wished them all the staff a very happy New Year. The Commissioner thanked the Mayor for agreeing the proposal to take up this type of initiative.

The Commissioner informed that this type of programmes are being held in all the 150 wards of GHMC by duly involving the concerned Corporators and officials for distribution of sweet boxes to the entire sanitation staff as a token of thanks giving and encouragement to perform their duties more effectively. He said that he is having a lot of hopes on the staff that they may take moral responsibility while performing their duties with utmost care to keep the City much cleaner.

In all half KG each sweet boxes were distributed to 24,000 sanitation workers in 150 wards of GHMC. All the Additional Commissioners/ Zonal Commissioners/ Deputy Commissioners and senior officials of various wings of GHMC have participated in the programme. INN
