GoM invites CM for talks on Telangana

Hyderabad, Nov 13 : The Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana has invited Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to discuss the issue of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

According to sources, the Chief Minister is likely to meet GoM at 8 AM no Thursday in New Delhi. He would be given an opportunity to spell out his stand on bifurcation and other issues related to formation of Telangana.

It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister has openly opposed the division of State and listed out several problems that might crop up due to formation of Telangana. The GoM, which has already heard the views of different political parties including the ruling Congress party, has invited the Chief Minister separately in view of his negative stand on Telangana. Even the Congress party gave split opinion on the issue with Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha supporting Telangana and Minister Vatti Vasanth Kumar speaking against the bifurcation.

The MIM, BJP, CPI, TRS, CPI (M) and YSRCP have presented their views before the GoM on Tuesday and Wednesday. Besides the Chief Minister, the GoM will also meet the union ministers from Seemandhra region on November 18. INN
