CM launches LPG Subsidy Direct Transfer Scheme

Hyderabad, June 1 : Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday launched the LPG Subsidy Direct Transfer Scheme in the five districts of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Chittoor, Anantapur and East Godavari.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the LPG Subsidy Direct Transfer Scheme would benefit about 49 lakh consumers in five districts. He said that the introduction of online payment system for many welfare schemes including post-matric scholarship and fee reimbursement was aimed at eradicating bogus claims while ensuring that the real beneficiaries enjoy the benefit. The scheme has been linked to Aadhar cards wherein the subsidy of Rs 600 per cylinder would be directly credited to the bank accounts of the consumers. The State Government will get Rs 5,200 crore subsidy on the LPG, the Chief Minister said.

Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Panabaka Lakshmi, Union Minister of State for Highways Sarve Satyanarayana, Secunderabad MP Anjam Kumar Yadav, Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao, Labour Minister D Nagender and Civil Supplies Minister D Sridhar Babu were also present on the occasion.
