Minorities’ representation in Govt Jobs up by 2.26%

Prime Minister’s New 15 Point Programme for the welfare of minorities, inter-alia provides for giving special consideration to minorities in recruitment. The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) is the nodal agency to look into the matter of recruitment of minorities.

The DoPT has issued guidelines to all concerned authorities to give special consideration to minorities in appointments. As per information made available by DoPT, the representation of minorities in Government jobs has increased from 6.24% in 2011-12 to 8.50% in 2014-15.
