Telangana budget session to last for 17 days

Hyderabad, March 4 (INN): The forthcoming budget session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly is likely to last for 17 days from 7th to 27th March.

According to sources, while the budget session will begin on March 7 with the joint address of Governor ESL Narasimhan to the members of both Legislative Assembly and Council, the legislature will debate the Motion of Thanks from 8th to 10th March. Finance Minister Etala Rajender will present the first full-fledged budget of Telangana State on March 11. There will be no sitting on March 12 so as to facilitate the members to study the budget.

There will be debate on budget for four days while the government will give its reply on 17th March. Later, the House will take up discussion on Grants for different departments. The budget session is likely to conclude on 27th March with the passing of Appropriation Bill. However, the final agenda will be decided during the meeting of Business Advisory Committee (BAC), to be held on March 7.
