Hyderabad, March 4 (INN): Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is conspiring to merge Burgam Pahad mandal of Khammam district into AP.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here on Wednesday, Ponguleti alleged that Naidu had successfully conspired to merge seven mandal of Khammam in the name of Polavaram project. Now he is eyeing on Burgam Pahad mandal, which is rich in natural resources. Warning Naidu against any such move, Ponguleti threatened to launch massive agitation if the AP Chief Minister goes ahead with his plans.
Ponguleti also ridiculed Naidu’s tour of Telangana and said that the AP Chief Minister should give Telangana its share of energy and water if he really cares for the people of this State. He alleged that Naidu’s chanting of ‘Jai Telangana’ slogan was superficial. He also accused Naidu of cheating the people of his own State to benefit some corporates.
The Congress MLC also slammed Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for not pursuing the plans to set up a steel factory at Bayyaram and 4,000 MW NTPC power plant. He said that the State Government did not spend even 30 per cent of the total allocations made in the budget for 2014-15.
