Hyderabad, Feb 15 (INN): Chief Election Commissioner HS Brahma has praised the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation for successfully implementing Re 5 per meal scheme for the poor.
Speaking to media persons after visiting a centre at Nampally Sarai here on Sunday, Brahma said that the subsidised food scheme was a great step in providing quality meal to the poor people. He said that the scheme should be replicated across the country. He said was proud that he had once served the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad as its Commissioner.
Speaking about Telangana Government’s demand for increase in Assembly and Lok Sabha seats, Brahma reiterated that the Election Commission has no role on the issue and decision has been taken by the Union Home Ministry through an amendment in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganistaion Act.
