Hyderabad, Feb 5 (INN): Congress senior leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar has accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of having failed to get required funds from the Centre.
Speaking to media persons in the Assembly premises here, Ponnam said that the Andhra Pradesh Government got a special package of Rs 850 crore from the Centre. He demanded that KCR too get a similar package for the Telangana State. He said that the Chief Minister should stay in the national capital till he pressurises and get a similar package from the Centre.
Ponnam said KCR has been accusing the Centre of non-cooperation. He said that the Chief Minister needs to understand the reasons that strained his relationship with the Central Government. He said KCR should not expect opposition parties to build relationship with the Centre to get sops for Telangana. Being in power, it is the responsibility of the Chief Minister to get equal benefits for the Telangana State from the Centre. Stating that the government could not be run just by selling away government lands, he advised KCR to improve his relations with the Centre and also take all opposition parties into confidence.
