GHMC Chief holds review on land regularization scheme

Hyderabad, Feb 5 (INN): Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar on Thursday held a review meeting with the District Collectors of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy on the progress of land regularization scheme, identification of eligible allottees of housing scheme and land acquisition on Metro Rail Project.

Somessh Kumar informed that so far, as many as 213,707 applications have been received under land regularization scheme. Of them, 150,000 are from Ranga Reddy district and 63,707 applications are from Hyderabad district on land regularization scheme. To verify these applications, a total of 111 teams including 69 teams for Ranga Reddy have been formed. In verification of land regularization, Town Planning officials would be drafted so that they would identify well in advance the Government lands, Parks, Nalas, Public utilization places, grave yards etc., in clearing the land regularization applications to avoid any consequences.

The Special Officer asked the Collectors of Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad district to speed up the work in identifying the eligible members for allotment of remaining 19,400 houses out of 36,404 houses and also instructed to acquire land for Metro Rail project which are still pending.

GHMC Additional Commissioner Gourav Uppal, Chief City Planner Devender Reddy and other senior officials have participated in the review meeting.
