Hyderabad, Feb 4 (INN): BJP National Executive and Bar Council member N Ramchander Rao on Wednesday denied reports that the Central Government was delaying the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh High Court.
Speaking to media persons while participating in a dharna organised by the BJP’s Lawyers Forum at Dharna Chowk near Indira Park here, Ramchander Rao said that issue of bifurcation needs to be resolved by the Chief Justices of Supreme Court and High Court and the Chief Ministers of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He claimed that the Centre has written a letter to the State Government asking it identify a separate building for the High Court. However, the Telangana Government did not react on the same and therefore, the issue is still pending resolution.
Ramchander Rao said if the State Government identifies a building, then the Telangana BJP unit was ready to take up the issue with the Centre to get required funds for the same. He also announced support to the ongoing agitation by the Telangana Advocates JAC seeking bifurcation of High Court.
