Hyderabad, Jan 31 (INN): Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has announced that the Monda Market in Secunderabad would be modernized without damaging the existing the heritage structure.
The Chief Minister, along with Deputy CM Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Ministers Nayani Narasimha Reddy (Home) and Talasani Srinivas Yadav (Commercial Taxes), GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar and other senior officials, inspected the Monda Market in Secunderabad on Saturday. During the visit, KCR interacted with the vegetable vendors and heard their grievances.
After the inspection, responding to the request of the vegetable vendors and other business establishment persons, the Chief Minister said that the government would take up the modernization of Monda Market very soon. The existing facilities which are not up to the mark and causing inconvenience to the citizens would be upgraded. He directed the officials to ensure basic minimum facilities are provided on priority basis.
Mohammed Ishaq, one of the vendor from the meat market, has explained the difficulties which are being faced by the meat vendors. He further informed that the Monda Market is in existence for the last 130 years and have been serving the citizens of the twin cities. However, the market still lacks basic facilities. Responding to the complaint, the Chief Minister assured the vendors all necessary facilities like toilets and drinking water would be provided on immediate basis.
KCR is the first Chief Minister in the history who visited the historic Monda Market.
