Hyderabad, Sept 9: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the flood situation in the coastal districts through a video-conference on Tuesday.
In a video-conference with district collectors from East and West Godavari which have been hit by floods, the Chief Minister has directed them to ensure rescue and rehabilitation efforts are in place in flood-affected areas and ensure support to people in every way possible.
The Chief Minister has asked officials to supply of 10 kg of rice and one litre kerosene to displaced families. He instructed officials to ensure that broken bunds are fixed at the earliest. With second warning flag hoisted in Godavari, the Chief Minister has asked officials to take preventive measures.
Chandrababu Naidu has asked rescue teams to find people who have been reported missing and ensure that those dead due to floods claim for a compensation immediately.
With Godavari rising to alarming levels, several villages including Achanta and Polavaram remained marooned. In West Godavari, the Chief Minister has asked officials to submit a report on the damage or crop loss.
