Agriculture will be made a profitable profession: Pocharam

Karimangar, July 30 (INN): Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday reiterated that the Telangana Government would take all measures to turn farming into a profitable profession.

Speaking to media persons here, Pocharam said that the government has initiated several steps to ensure proper supply of power, quality seeds and fertilisers to the farmers. He said that there would be no shortage of any kind across Telangana. All other facilities required during and after the harvesting will also be provided to the farmers, he said.

The minister said that the TRS Government was firm on stopping the suicide spree by the farmers, which he alleged, was ignored during the TDP and Congress regimes. He appealed to the farmers not to resort to extreme steps like suicide under any circumstances and assured that the government would provide them all required assistance.
