Ponguleti demands criminal case against Railways

Hyderabad, July 25 : Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Friday demanded the registration of criminal case against the Railways for its negligence in the incident where 16 students were killed in a school bus-train collision in Medak district yesterday.

Ponguleti said that the South Central Railway is now trying to blame the bus driver for the tragic mishap. He said that the Railways should accept its failure and pay compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the victims’ families. He said immediate action should be taken to avoid such cases near 600 unmanned railway crossings mentioned by the SCR itself. He said steps should be taken on war footing than waiting for another tragedy to occur.

The Congress MLC alleged that the Centre’s moves to ensure early disposal cases against politicians were aimed at providing relief to leaders like Amit Shah, who is being tried for his alleged involved in Guajrat riots of 2002. He said that the BJP want to set free its leaders by ensuing fast disposal of cases.  INN
