Anantapur, July 12 : Former minister S Sailajanath on Saturday demanded that the Andhra Pradesh Government set up AIIMS in Anantapur district.
Speaking to media persons here, Sailajanath said that the Andhra Pradesh Government should not repeat the mistake of concentrating the development only in one place, as it was done in Hyderabad. Therefore, he said that the government should ensure development of all regions and national institutions should be set up across the Seemandhra region. He said while AIIMS should be set up Anantapur, the High Court could be established in Rayalaseema as per the Sribagh Pact. Likewise, he said a new railway zone should be set up with Guntakal as its headquarters.
Sailajanath said that the sub-capital for Andhra Pradesh should be formed between Kurnool and Anantapur. INN
