Narasimhan takes major decisions in Governor-in-Council meeting

Hyderabad, May 31 : Governor ESL Narasimhan on Saturday took several major decisions during the meeting of Governor-in-Council held at Raj Bhavan and attended by Chief Secretary PK Mohanty, his Advisors Salauddin Ahmed and AN Roy, senior officials Ajay Kallam, PV Ramesh, Pradeep Chandra, Siva Shankar, Lakshmi Parthasarathy, Anantaramulu, BR Meena and others.

The Governor accepted to ratify the action having issued orders for renewal of the lease, in principle, in favour of Mahaveer Hospital and Research Centre, Hyderabad for further period of (30) years with effect from 8.3.2007 pending finalization of lease rentals. However, the Governor said the new government would take a decision for continuation of the concessional lease rent.

Narasimhan has accepted the proposal for allotment of land to Pullela Gopichand for establishment of Badminton Academy. But, the proposal related to deletion of the condition of nominating senior officers like Special Chief Secretary to Government, Finance Department and Prl. Secretary, Y.A.T & C (YS&S) Department as members on the Governing Body of Badminton Academy would be referred to the new government with favourable recommendations.

The other proposals like alienation of government land to a total extent of Ac.4.79 cts., in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore District in favour of South Central Railway, Tirupati for formation of new broad-gauge line and advance possession and alienation of government land to an extent of 502.30 acres in Chittoor District in favour of APIIC was recommended to the new government to take a suitable decision.

The Governor has agreed to send a proposal to Government of India for continuation of the jurisdiction of certain Commissions, Authorities, Tribunals that were constituted under the Central Act / State Act in both the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The meeting also has accepted the proposal for additional staff, accommodation and vehicles required to Raj Bhavan due to State reorganization.  INN
