Hyderabad, May 29 : The YSR Congress Party on Thursday accused the Telugu Desam Party of adopting an agenda to settle political scores. It also accused the TDP of misleading Governor ESL Narasimhan by giving reports with concocted details and asserted that it will fight such vindictive politics tooth and nail.
“Chandrababu Naidu has forgotten his agenda of developing the state and even before being sworn-in, he has started the witch-hunt by targeting political adversaries and his complaint to the Governor naming YSRCP leader as accused in the Alipiri attack case is politically motivated. We are seeking an appointment with the Governor to put the record straight but we condemn the TDP leader’s tone, tenor and provocative speeches which are aimed at targetting political adversaries,” YSRPC leader B Srikanth Reddy, Srinivasulu and others told reporters here on Thursday.
They alleged that the TDP leader digging out the name of Gangi Reddy, accused number 34 in the Alipiri incident, in a complaint to the Governor now shows his vindictiveness. The court has absolved him of all the charges and bringing up his name now is nothing short of misleading the Governor, they said adding that they will also meet the ESL Narasimhan and submit the true picture. Naidu seems to have taken up the vindictive agenda but we will be vigilant and thwart every move of his in a peaceful and democratic manner. Checking the smuggling of redsanders is the need of the hour and very influential people of TDP are involved in the operation, they said.
“Two persons, who are known to be close to Chandrababu Naidu and Purandeswari are actively involved in the smuggling activity. One of the two persons could get bail baffling even top officials the other still in the field. Ignoring such big fish, TDP is trying to level baseless charges against our cadre by foisting false charges and we will cooperate with the government in eradicating the menace of smuggling of redsanders but will fight out the vindictive attitude of Chandrababu Naidu,” they said.
The off-shot of Chandrababu Naidu’s provocative speeches is the physical attacks on our leaders and cadre by TDP workers and we will take up the issue at an appropriate forum, they said.
While factionism and Maoism were rampant during TDP rule, YSR has disarmed them and set Ananthapur free from faction feuds and Maoist attacks were on downside. “It seems, TDP wants to bring back the old state of affairs. We will give our report in detail once the Governor gives us an appointment,” they said. INN
