Rail Nirman Nilayam awarded ISO 14001:2004

Hyderabad, May 24 : The Rail Nirman Nilayam, Secunderabad, the office of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Construction, South Central Railway has been awarded with the ISO 14001:2004 certification for Environmental Management System after the building was assessed and found to conform to the requirements of the Certification.

The Rail Nirman Nilayam Office had processed its credentials for acquiring the ISO 14001 tag in order to enhance its role in improving credentials in the area of environmental management system, a tool which enables an organisation to achieve and systematically control its level of environmental performance. The aim to seek this certification is to control the impact of the activities, products and services that have a bearing on the environment and also to derive the benefits including material savings through more complete product input processing, substitution and recycling of by-products and waste; Reduced energy consumption; Reduced environmental liability; Proof of social responsibility and Improved employee morale.

The certification is done by Absolute Quality Certification Private Ltd. (accredited by: Joint Accreditation System of Australia & New Zealand).

The Rail Nirman Nilayam holds the ‘Three Star’ GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) for its meticulous planning and execution in terms of adopting all Green Building concepts in the construction and design of the building.
