Hyderabad, May 12 : Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader Etela Rajender on Monday claimed that the results of Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Telangana region would be entirely different from what was seen in municipal polls.
Speaking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan here, Etala said that the results in Telangana were not satisfactory as the party did not campaign for the elections. However, he said the results of municipal elections should not be benchmark to judge the popularity of TRS in the region. He claimed that the TRS would stun all the political parties with its performance in Assembly and Lok Sabha elections whose results will be declared on May 16.
Etela said that the celebrations of Congress and Telugu Desam Party would be short lives as both parties would face a humiliating defeat in the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. He said the TRS would get a majority of seats in Assembly to form the first government of Telangana State. However, he said that the TRS would not take results of municipal elections lightly and it would strengthen its organisational structure. He maintained that the TRS was more a movement than a political party which struggled for over a decade to get statehood for Telangana region. INN
