Ponnala thanks T-people for victory

Hyderabad, May 12 : Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah has expressed gratitude to the voters of Telangana for electing the party’s candidates in the municipal elections.

Speaking to media persons after participating in celebration in Telangana Congress headquarters Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday, Ponnala said that the Congress victory in municipal elections was a proof that people of Telangana region have complete faith in the party. He said AICC President Sonia Gandhi gave lot of sacrifices to grant statehood for Telangana and people of this region reciprocated by ensuring victory of Congress party. He said that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi has been pushed to the third position.

Ponnala hoped that the results of ZPTC and MPTC elections, to be declared on May 13, too would be in favour of Congress. Similarly, the results of General Elections for Assembly and Parliament will prove the people are with the Congress, he said adding that the party was confident of winning 14 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana.  INN
