Hyderabad, May 6 : The Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway apprehended over 2200 persons for ticketless/irregular travel.
They were apprehended during a fortress check at Secunderabad Railway station on Monday. The Check was carried out under the direct supervision of B Singaiah, Additional Divisional Railway Manager/Operations and other officials. As many as 138 ticket checking staff along with Railway Protection Force Personnel carried out the drive and checked the tickets of passenger in the trains and on platforms. During the fortress check, all the exit points at Secunderabad Railway station were plugged to prevent ticketless travellers escaping from the fortress check. A total of 52 express trains, 12 passenger trains and 45 MMTS trains were checked.
During the check, 2209 persons were apprehended, which include 546 persons travelling without ticket, 1497 persons travelling irregularly and 166 cases of passengers carrying un-booked luggage. A total of Rs. 9,70,400/- was realised towards penalty from these persons. INN
