Hyderabad, April 15 : YSR Congress has said that its stand on N Chandrababu Naidu showing nepotism in pursing the World Bank-driven privatization policy has been vindicated with the revelations of PC Parak in his book Crusader or Conspirator.
“The retired IAS officer has written in minute detail how Chandrababu Naidu pursued the World Bank dictates and went for privatization ignoring the people’s interest on one hand and showing nepotism in distributing profit making PSUs among his coterie on the other,’ Party official spokesperson Vasireddy Padma told reporters here on Tuesday.
The privatisation of PSUs has thrown over 26,000 people out of jobs but has benefited his close associates who grabbed the units at throwaway prices and are now managing them as private limited companies.
The author, who was then in service, has opposed many times the overzealous approach of N Chandrababu Naidu towards privatization but the TDP leader went ahead with the World Bank agenda, Parak wrote in the book. He has privatized 54 PSUs bowing to the conditions of World Bank and distributed them among his coterie.
The author has also said the government has lost Rs 308 crores only in a single case of Nizam Sugars. Naidu has closed down many sugar and spinning mills in the cooperative sector and gave it to his corporate circle.
“The nine year rule of Naidu has been dotted with such anti-people policies and how could he face the people now and tell them about development as part of electioneering. His model of development has been established much earlier along with his priorities. When he speaks about development it could not be anything other than privatization,’ she said and asked the TDP leaders to come for an open debate on the closer of PSUs and distributing them to his own people at dirt cheap prices.
He adopted a similar policy in giving away land for IMG Bharatha and Emaar in heart of the city at throwaway prices, she said.
She also flayed Sabbam Hari for his negative campaign on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and a section of media lapping up the story though the leader speaking out of frustration and venting out his imagination that the graph of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is falling down,’ she added. INN
