Hyderabad, April 12 : Utter confusion and chaos prevailed during the release of Telangana Congress manifesto at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday.
The manifesto, which was originally scheduled to be released at 11 AM, was delayed by over two hours. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah did not reach the Gandhi Bhavan on time and preferred to attend a meeting held by some minorities’ organisation. Immediately after his arrival, he got busy with the joining of TRS leader Shravan and others into the Congress party. His entry into the conference hall along with other leaders led to a near stampede situation forcing some media personnel to give a call for boycott of the function.
However, Union Minister Jairam Ramesh pacified the agitated media personnel. The Telangana Congress leaders were seen jostling to get a copy of the manifesto. According to sources, only 200 copies of English manifesto reached the Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday which were released among the media personnel. The senior Congress leaders were seen requesting their colleagues and some media personnel to wait till Sunday to get more copies and the manifesto in Telugu and Urdu languages. INN
